Fred Caudill

1913 - 2006

MOREHEAD - Fred Caudill, 93, of Fern Creek, Kentucky formerly of Morehead passed away Monday, November 6, 2006. He was born on July 29, 1913 in Rowan County, Kentucky to the late W. T. and Eliza Belle Messer Caudill. Mr. Caudill was a former coach, teacher and administrator in the Rowan County and Jefferson County Public School Systems. He retired as principal of Fern Creek Elementary School where he served for over 20 years. Mr. Caudill was a former clay miner/broker in Haldeman. He was a United States Veteran having served in the Army Signal Corps during World War II and as a civilian instructor for the Navy. He was a member of the Living Hope Baptist Church and the Morehead State University Alumni Association.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Stewart Caudill who passed away on August 17, 1995, two brothers, Ezra ("Shady") Caudill and William Caudill and five sisters, Carrie Holbrook, Lyda Marie Caudill, Anna Pearl Whitney, Hattie Maynard and Stella May Catron.

Survivors include his half-sister, Leola Hurst and several nieces and nephews, including, Kay Stout and Dr. Marc Holbrook. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 P.M. Friday, November 10, 2006 in the chapel of the Lane-Stucky-Gray Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Lee Cemetery. Visitation is after noon Friday.
